Mayor’s Family Picnic

By Rebecca Richmond

It’s time to dust off your picnic rugs and head to George Pentland Botanic Gardens as one of Frankston’s much loved traditions returns next month.

Frankston Mayor Cr Sandra Mayer has decided to continue the tradition of the Mayor’s Picnic Day, a great opportunity to bring the city together and showcase the many community groups and local talent. “This is an event which is all about having fun, kicking back with your family and celebrating our city,” Cr Mayer said. “As Mayor I see this as a great way of giving back to our residents and I hope to see them come along and enjoy this great day.”

Bring a picnic or enjoy some of the food being sold on the day and try out the activities, games, entertainment and displays including kids’ favourite The Paint Pot People. The day will also include the presentation of Community Grants to local community groups at 12 noon.

The event is being held on September 8 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at George Pentland Botanic Gardens and entry is free.
