Ray White Proudly Support Very Special Kids

By Rachel Wallace

The team at Ray White Frankston will be taking part in an 8 hour treadmill challenge to raise money for Very Special Kids.

VSK support approximately 850 families across Victoria who have a child with a life-limiting condition by providing ongoing support at diagnosis all the way through to bereavement. Sadly, many of the children we care for will not reach adulthood.

VSK are predominately self-funded and rely on the support of the community to deliver their services.

VSK free-of-charge family support services includes counselling, advocacy, sibling support, bereavement support, networking and peer activities, trained family volunteers and specialist care, and respite, at the Very Special Kids Hospice. VSK also provide accommodation onsite and at other locations around Victoria to provide families with much-needed breaks. Each family is supported in unique and varying ways according to their personal needs.

  • The children’s hospice was the first in Australia, and is still the only children’s hospice in Victoria
  • VSK support approximately 850 families across Victoria
  • In addition to the main offices and children’s hospice in Malvern, there are additional metropolitan offices in Yarraville and South Morang
  • They are a state-wide service with Family Support Practitioners based in regional areas of Barwon, Gippsland, Grampians, Hume, Loddon Mallee, Peninsula and South West Victoria
  • They are supported by more than 1,000 volunteers, their work wouldn’t be possible without them
